" Piggy Back Friends "

One Day As I Sat Waiting . . .
At Another Traffic Light
My Frustrations Were Distracted
As I Looked Towards My Right

A Young And Carefree Couple
Trudging Through The Sidewalk Snow
Looked So Happy And Were Smiling
With A Frosty Radiant Glow

They Were Giggling As They Stumbled
Going Where ? I Do Not Know
Enlightened As I Watched Them
Since The Traffic Was ~ No Go !

At One Point Upon The Sidewalk
The Path Looked Single-File
I Watched To See What Happened ?
And What Did, Made My Heart Smile !

The Young Man Stopped Abruptly
The Young Lady Took The Clue
She Simply Jumped Up On His Back
And He Carried Her Right Through

At That Point Cars Began To Move
The Traffic Light Turned Green
And As I Drove, I Thought A Lot
. . . Of That Couple That I'd Seen

Just Like "The Footprints In The Sand"
We All Have Heard Or Read
Was Re-enforced That Winters' Day
As Away I Quickly Sped

And Like Our Savior Up Above
That Carries Us All Through
Our Friends And Family Do The Same
Because Of Folks Like You !
So This Christmas I Would Like To Say
To My Great "Piggy~Back " Friends
Thanks For Carrying Me Through Miles & Smiles
And Thanks For Being My ~ "Book-Ends" !

Our Minds Are The Garden
And Our Thoughts Are The Seeds
The Harvest Can Be . . .
Either Flowers Or Weeds
