The Age Old Battle of Heads and Hearts

Heads are for Hats and Hearts are for Living!
 

The older I become, 
I realize something that I think must come with age...
or at least wanting to really live!
Heads are for hats and Hearts must be for living ... 
because there is an age-old battle that goes on between the two.
And as each day passes, I have decided to listen to my heart.

For whenever I think about taking a chance that might bring true joy 
and help me celebrate the miracle of living such as watching snowflakes fall ... 
my head says, "You go out in that cold and here comes pneumonia." 
But my heart says, "Did you ever taste a snowflake or make a snow angel?"

And then there are those moments when my head just loudly proclaims, 
"You gave up that dream a long time ago..." 
But even stronger my heart shouts,
"You can still achieve it. 
It's not too late. 
Come on-let's go!"

And every once in a while there is a day when my heart says, 
"Go out and help someone today ... 
enjoy the sunsets and most of all-tell someone you love them. 
And my head says, "People don't have time for that today. 
You've got deadlines!"

And then there is that time when my head says, 
"No one will like that idea-you are too old to try that!" 
And my heart just laughs 
because it knows what is about to happen!

For my heart knows the secret of a happy life and I am so glad it told me !!!
And by the way... go out and buy a hat! 
Because heads are for hats 
and hearts are for living!
