Celebrate Life

I love celebrations-how about you?
They are so much fun and joyous too.
Things such as the birth of a little baby.
Or a birthday party for a grand old lady.
We can celebrate anniversaries with our friends.
Or even that much awaited for -graduation
Promotions are a cause to lift our voice.
And all holidays are a time to rejoice.

Each of those are very special times.
That call for cards, balloons and even computer signs.
Many call for a special toast.
Like grandchildren-they make me boast.
BUT Then cancer came along, grabbed my flesh and said to me
"What, my dear, do you have that makes you keep smiling so happily?"
I looked it right in the face and simply replied,
"Because of you-I celebrate and am more alive".

Not only do I have all those celebrations before I loved.
I now have many more I may have missed
if you hadn't hit me with your club.

I now toast the sunrise and the sunset.
I laugh at rippling brooks and playful pets.
I smile to just hear a child laughing or a bird singing.
And, I have cake and ice creme a lot-not just when I'm dreaming.
I celebrate the birth of each new day.
My anniversary of cancer diagnosis brings a special ray.
And how about that graduation after completing radiation?
That was really a big time for celebration.

I also received a grand promotion,
To another year of forward motion.

So each day is a gift of a new holiday.
Full of joy, laughter, hopes and play.

So, I say Thank You cancer for letting me see
That celebrating Life is the way it should be.

I am dedicating this page to my daughter Beth
who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

We are asking everyone not to only 'think positive' but to please 'have faith' ...
'keep the faith'
We are praying for the Lord to carry us through.
