Janie, I have a little poem I wrote some time ago for Beth,
but it is not very eloquent or elegant, so I hesitated sending it. 
But since it is exactly what I pray for Beth right now,
I have decided to send it to you anyway. 
I figure I might as well ask for the "whole works"
- A miracle, if need be - no more of this halfway stuff -
and that is what I am praying for now... 
 

A MIRACLE, PLEASE
 
Why not ask for a miracle?
Why not pray for the very best?
Go for broke - go all the way.
Why pray for anything less?
 
It doesn't do any harm to ask,
And it doesn't cost a cent more,
You're talking to the Miracle Man,
So just talk a little bit more.
 
Why just pray for help to survive?
Why just pray for help to feel better?
Be grateful if things progress that way,
But pray that one heals altogether.
 
God will reply in ways He thinks wise,
His reasons, perhaps, we won't know,
But every day, the more we pray
A miracle may very well show.
 
So let's pray for a healing,
A miracle, please,
Our arms are outstretched,
We're down on our knees.
 
Help us accept His will, as expressed,
Though we continue to pray for more,
A miracle, please - God, one of Your best,
We pray - we beseech - we implore.
